6 Favorite Morocco Stays
Look, I've stayed in a LOT of hotels. Some were amazing, some made me question my life choices, and a few had me wondering if the photos online were taken with a magic filter. After multiple trips to Morocco, I've found six spots that won't have you texting me at 2am asking why your "luxury riad" smells like wet goat.
These aren't your typical "5-star resort with infinity pools" picks. They're the real deal—places where you'll actually want to hang out instead of plotting your escape.
Ready to explore with us? Here's where we'll be staying on our upcoming Morocco group adventure.
Casablanca: Val D’Anfa Hotel
This hotel? It's got ocean views, a solid pool, and you're five minutes from whatever civilization this city has to offer.
The hotel itself is perfectly fine (translation: it won't make your Instagram, but you won't hate your life). What I actually love here is the pool situation and the fact that you can walk to decent beach restaurants. Perfect for that "holy shit, I'm actually in Morocco" moment when you first arrive.
Chefchaouen: Riad Hicham
This place is Instagram crack. Seriously, the blue and yellow situation here is so photogenic you'll spend half your time taking pictures and the other half trying to figure out how to recreate this vibe at home.
It’s located RIGHT in the heart of Chefchaouen. The courtyard is gorgeous, the restaurant is actually good, and yes, you will take approximately 847 photos here. No judgment.
The iconic blue and yellow architecture of Chefchaouen's Riad Hicham creates the perfect backdrop for wandering through hidden courtyards filled with traditional Moroccan design elements.

Fes: Riad Al Ansari
The owners here are delightful. The manager actually lives on-site (revolutionary!), the rooms don't smell weird, and the food won't send you running for Pepto.
You get views of the Merinides Tombs from the terrace, which sounds fancy but really just means "cool old stuff you can see while drinking mint tea." High praise from someone who's slept in questionable places for the sake of "authenticity."
The fountains inside this riad are a definite highlight.
Merzouga - Sahara Desert: Kam Kam Dunes
Here's where shit gets real. We're talking glamping in the actual Sahara Desert, complete with indoor plumbing (because I'm adventurous, not insane). No AC in the tents, so bring a fan.
The staff here are absolute legends. Solar-powered hot showers, decent food, and more photo ops than you can count. Fair warning: you will fall in love with this place and start planning your return before you've even left.
As night falls over the Sahara, Kam Kam Dunes offers magical moments under the stars with comfortable outdoor lounging areas and traditional Moroccan lanterns creating a peaceful desert oasis.
Evenings at Kam Kam Dunes bring our group together on handwoven Berber rugs under the stars, where traditional lanterns create a magical atmosphere.
Draa Valley: Kasbah Dar Hnini
This is what happens when someone builds a modern kasbah. Infinity pool overlooking date palms? Check. Restaurant that doesn't serve mystery meat? Check. Rooms that actually look like the photos? Miracle of miracles, yes.
Stop here on the way to Marrakech and get that traditional Moroccan hammam experience if you're brave enough.
Dine above the palms at Kasbah Dar Hnini, where the rooftop terrace offers panoramic views, a refreshing pool, and an unforgettable setting for meals under the Moroccan sky.
Cool off in the infinity pool at Kasbah Dar Hnini.
Kasbah Dar Hnini's rooftop infinity pool stretches across the Draa Valley's lush date palm oasis to the rugged mountains beyond.
Marrakech: Be Marrakech
Yes, this is the influencer hotel. Yes, everyone and their mother posts pictures here. But here's the thing—it's actually good. Sometimes places are popular because they don't suck, shocking concept.
Beautiful rooftop (with turtles, because Morocco), amazing food, and a riad cat named Mushkila (which means "problem" in Arabic). The tilework will make you question why American bathrooms are so boring.
Be Marrakech's serene inner courtyard combines traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with modern comfort – note the stunning zellige tilework surrounding the refreshing plunge pool.
The perfect retreat after exploring the bustling medina just steps away.
These six places represent what I actually want when I travel: authentic experiences without having to sleep on a questionable mattress, stunning locations that don't require a machete to reach, and comfortable spaces where you can decompress after a day of sensory overload.
Our Morocco trip hits that sweet spot between "roughing it for the 'gram" and "hiding in a resort bubble." I've handled all the logistics so you can focus on the important stuff—like figuring out how many carpets you can fit in your suitcase and whether you actually need that seventh tagine pot.
If you're ready to stop scrolling through other people's Morocco posts and start creating your own stories, let's do this thing.
