Type 2 Travel
A podcast where solo travelers find their people.
You know that feeling when you're knee-deep in a travel disaster—like when you're stuck on a camel in a Saharan sand storm, questioning every life choice that led you to this moment? But then later, it becomes the story you can't stop telling at dinner parties? That's Type 2 fun, and that's exactly what this podcast is about.
I'm Laura Ericson, and I've made a career out of dragging people to places their friends think are "too dangerous" and their parents can't pronounce. Every week, I'm sitting down with fellow adventurers, travel industry insiders, and the beautifully unhinged humans who choose discomfort over all-inclusive resorts.
We're talking about the real stuff—the language barriers that led to accidentally ordering sheep brain, the travel romances that crashed harder than a budget airline, and the moments when your "perfect" Instagram post required someone to literally hold your dress train while you pretended to be graceful in the valleys of Cappadocia.
No highlight reels. No "wanderlust" clichés. Just honest stories about how travel changes you, breaks you, and occasionally leads you to crashing a Colombian quinceañera.
Because the best adventures rarely go according to plan, and the worst moments make the best stories.
New episodes drop every week. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, and prepare for some seriously questionable decision-making.
